Retired Lt. Col US Army Edward John Tozer Of Davison, age 84, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at Mother Theresa House Lansing, MI, Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 PM Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 Dayton St., Davison, Fr Andrew A. Czajkowski officiating, with Burial at St John Cemetery in Davison with Military Honors. The family will receive friends at the Hansen Funeral Home, 421 N. Main St., Davison from 5:00pm to 8:00 pm Thursday. A Parish Rosary will be prayed Thursday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Tozer will lie in state at the church from 12:30pm Friday until the time of the services. Contributions may be made in Edward's memory to the Church Memorial of the Alzheimer's Association. Edward was born in Detroit, MI, July 18, 1920 the son of the late Leonard and Marie (Steenson) Tozer and had resided in the Davison area since 1965. He was joined in marriage to Patricia Ryan Oct.11, 1952 in Dublin Ontario Canada and she preceded him in death December 7, 2005. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Davison, He taught CCD Classes, was a member of the Men's Club, and served on numerous Church boards and committees. . Mr. Tozer was a member of the American Legion Post #267 of Davison. Employed at Citizens Bank and retiring from the Trust dept. in the late 1980's. Answering the call of his country Edward served with the US Marine Corps and US Army serving in both WWII and the Korean Wars retiring as Lt. Colonel US Army in 1968.He is the Loving Father of: Edward John Tozer, Jr., Mary Kathleen (John) Smith, and Joanne Alice (Tom) Walroth: Loving Grandfather: Jessica, Jason, John, Tommy and wife Alyson, Chad, Bryan, Katie, and Brittany,A loving Great Grandfather to Great Grandson Finley and Great Granddaughter Kelsey. He also leaves Brother Raymond Tozer, Sister's Jeanne Warren, Joan O'Halloran, Helen Tozer and Marie Ann Poplowski. He was preceded in death by Brother Richard and Leonard and son James M.
