Edward F. Schack of Burton, age 88, died Wednesday February 28, 2018 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 am Monday March 5, 2018 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Fr. Robert C. Bacik, Celebrant. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 4 – 7 pm Sunday at the funeral home.  Ed was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 30, 1929 the son of the late William and Katherine (Osterman) Schack, and has resided in the Burton area most of his life. Answering the call of his country Ed served in the US Army during the Korean War receiving both the Korean and United Nations Service Medals He was joined in marriage to Daisy Ann Kyser on November 10, 1958 and she preceded him in death on January 16, 2017. Ed had been employed by the City of Flint Fire Department until his retirement.  He is survived by son Ed and wife Meggin Schack, his grand children; Nicholas Schack, Tyler Schack, Tiffany Schack, Nicole & husband Neal Gatica, Krystyn & husband Samuel Colon, Iszabella Schack, and Caleb Schack. He also leaves his great grandchildren; Syenna Colon, Raylyn Gatica, and Sammy Colon. He is preceded in death by his brother William "Bill" Schack and his sister Dorothy "Dottie" Bulzom.
