Edra "Lois" Kucher (Boyd), age 80, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, in Medford, Massachusetts.
Born on March 30, 1945, in Paragould, Arkansas, to her parents Ernest and Magdalene. Lois lived a life
marked by compassion, dedication, and service to others.

Lois spent her professional life caring for others in profound ways. She began her career as a hairdresser
and later worked for many years at Rite Aid. However, her most cherished role was as a school bus driver
for Davison Community Schools, where she served faithfully for 30 years. Driving generations of children
to and from school, she became a beloved figure in the community. Known for her quick-witted, no
nonsense, but caring attitude, "Miss Lois" took exceptional care of everyone who rode her bus. She
found deep joy in getting to know the children and their families, forming bonds that lasted well beyond
the school year.

Her generous spirit extended far beyond her work. Lois was deeply concerned about the welfare of others
– cooking meals for those in need, buying clothes for families who went without and caring for sick and
elderly. Her daughters inherited not only her strong work ethic, but also her strength and her unwavering
commitment to kindness and service.

Lois found joy in simple pleasures throughout her life. In earlier years she was an avid bowler and loved
spending time in the kitchen cooking for family and friends. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, solving
puzzles, playing Bingo and gathering with friends over card games.
One of her most admired features was her beautiful white hair, which drew compliments from those
around her. Even in her final days, she maintained a sense of dignity and self-care – if she caught a
glimpse of herself on FaceTime or noticed a photo being taken, she would instinctively reach up to fix her
bangs, a small but telling gesture that reflected her enduring pride in her appearance.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Colette Kline and Kimberly Love-Pritchard; grandson Trevor
Kline, his wife Hilary and their daughter Poppy; grandson Cory Kline and his wife Brynn.
For the last year she was cared for with exceptional compassion by Rose Bickford and Kaira Goodman.
Their unwavering kindness, respect and love brought comfort and dignity to her final chapter. Most
importantly, they offered her a meaningful friendship that enriched her days and brought light into her life.

A private Celebration of Life will be held in 2026.
