Earl Lee Smith of Davison age 79, died Wednesday February 4, 2015 at McLaren-Flint. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Monday February 9, 2015 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison, with Pastor Curt Lilly officiating. Earl will then be taken to Morrison Funeral Home 12081 Highway 20, Florence Alabama for services and burial in Canaan Methodist Church Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon Monday until time of services at Hansen Funeral Home. Those desiring may make contributions in Earl's memory to the family. He was born in Flint Michigan on March 6, 1935 the son of the late Harold & Helen (Pethers) Smith and has resided in the Davison area since 1962. Earl was joined in marriage to Nancy Woods on February 2, 1955 in Clio Michigan. He had been active in the Davison Area Indian Education for many years. Earl worked as a independent truck driving contractor.. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of sixty years Nancy, sons; Joel & Regina Smith and Matthew & Janine Smith. His loving grandchildren: Lucas, Archer, Damen, Shallon, Tyler, great grandchild Xander, Erika, Emerson, and a host of other relatives. He is preceded in death by sisters Betty Jones and Irene Range.
