Dorothy May Smith Savage of Montrose, age 92 died Saturday December 18, 2010 at Medilodge of Montrose. Honoring her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Saturday May 14, 2011 at 4:00pm at Groves Chapel Hansen Funeral Home Downtown Davison, with private inurnment on the family plot in Cook Cemetery. Rev. John Grimshaw officiating. Family will receive vistiors from 2:00pm Saturday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in Dorothy's memory to the Heartland Hospice. Dorothy was born in Burt Michigan October 23, 1918 the daughter of the late Clifford & Hazel (Curler) Diffin, and has resided in the Flint-Montrose area most of her life. She was joined in marriage to Vivion Smith and he preceded her in death in 1987. She later married Ted Savage and he preceded her in death in 1993. Dorothy was a member of the Eagles Bumblebee Aerie #629 and had been employed by General Motors Turnsted Plant retiring in 1972. She is survived by daughters; Wanda Winters, Gloria Freeman, Lana (Dave) Lemon, and Vonda (Tom) Grohoski. Eight grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. Sisters; Ellen Fill, Delores Knight, and brothers Edward Diffin and Calvin Diffin.
