Obituary

Dorothy A. "DID" O'Connor of Davison, age 89 died Sunday November 21, 2010 at Bay Medical Center, Bay City, Michigan. Honoring her wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on May 7, 2011 at the Hansen Funeral Home, Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison, burial will take place at Davison Cemetery following the service. Those desirng may make contributions in Dorothy's name to Vadavilla AFC, 5750 Sheridan Rd. Unionville, Michigan 48767.
Dorothy was born in Millington, Michigan on May 6, 1921, the daughter of the late Frederick and Aliday (Woods) Riness and was a resident of Davison most of her life. She was joined in marriage to Francis O'Connor on December 22, 1951 in Flint Michigan and he preceded her in death June 1, 2010. Dorthy was active in the Foot Lighters Acting Company. She worked for a brief time at the Clarkston News. She was a member of Davison Eagles #3589, Davison Country Club, and the Elks. She enjoyed reading, word find, crossword puzzles, painting, decorating, sewing, dancing, cards, travel and social activities. She was known for her quick wit and zest for life.
Surviving are sister; Pauline Haliday, Children, Dianne Cole of Tenn, Gary Cole & Susan James of Otisville, Jennifer & husband Daniel Mousseau of Unionville, Candi & husband Ron Welch of Burton, Kevin & wife Jennifer O'Connor of Tenn. Grandchildren; Heidi Garceau, Scott Hilgendorf, Gardener Hilgendorf (Cole).Stefan Hilgendorf, Jashua Welch, Jason Dodd, Jodi Fieraband, Gina Weigman, Zachary O'Connor, Chelsea O'Connor, and Chloe O'Connor. Great Grandchildren; Kingston Cole, Kaylee Hilgendorf, Garrett Hilgendorf, Karli Garceau, Jared Garceau, Madison Welch, Cole Wiegman, Marina Byrd, Lydia Fieraband, Perry Fieraband; one great grandchild by choice, Hannah James, special niece Rilla Jo & husband Fred Halberg. She is preceded in death by brothers; Jess Riness, Charles Riness, Nelson Riness, and sisters; Meda Landis, and Laura Service.
The family would like to express our greatest appreciation for the special care and love given by Wendy Robbins, Tina Duff, Susan James, and the staff of Vadavilla AFC; their kindness and devotion will alway be warmly remembered.
