Dorothy Louise Gates of Davison age 91, died Wednesday December 17, 2014 at Melody Pines Care Center. Honoring her wishes cremation has taken place, and no services are being held. Dorothy was born in Holiday Grove West Virginia on April 25, 1923 the daughter of Nim & Vernice (Ferguson) Carnahan and has resided in the Davison area since 1953. She had been a member of Davison First Baptist Church and had been employed by the Flint Community Schools teaching at Freeman Elementary until her retirement in 1979. Surviving is son Howard Monroe, cousin, Doris Stewart close friend Eileen Swartz and a host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by the father of her son Howard F.
