Doris Helen Thurlow "Mrs. T or Granny" of Davison, age 79, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her family and friends. Honoring her wishes, cremation has already taken place and there will be no service. Those desiring may make contributions in Doris' memory to Wounded Warriors Project or the American Stroke Association.

Doris was born in Tazewell, Tennessee on December 9, 1945, the daughter of the late Arville and Media (Campbell) Whitaker. She resided in the Davison area after marrying William "Bill" Thurlow in 1961. Doris was a member of Emmanuel Church Flint. She embraced life with a warm heart and passion for simple pleasures and found immense joy in the beauty of her garden, the creativity of cooking and sewing, and leisurely rides on her golf cart. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her hobbies to her family, especially to her husband and her beloved daughters Glenda and Rhonda.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of sixty four years: Bill "Mr. T"; daughters: Glenda and husband Bill Hunt, and Rhonda and husband David Casadonte; grandson: William and wife Angella Parks; sister: Faye Lanham, as well as many extended family and friends especially the guys at Hunt Farms. She is preceded in death by her sisters: Lagretta Debusk, IvaLee Abbott; and brother: "Whit" Whitaker.
