Doris Jean Dion of Flint, age 78, died Thursday December 26, 2024 at her residence. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 2:00 pm Sunday January 5, 2025 at Hansen Funeral Home Downtown Davison, Fr. David Howell, Celebrant. Private inurnment will be held in St. John Cemetery, Davison.  Family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon Sunday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in Doris's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Doris was born in Muskegon Michigan on October 22, 1946 the daughter of the late King and Azora (Figgins) Zimmer and had resided in the Flint area for over sixty years.  She was joined in marriage to Richard Lee Dion on April 22, 1967 and he preceded her in death on December 4, 2014. Doris enjoyed attending the Movie Theater and her time shopping. She had a love of gardening and a true flair for home decorating.  Her numerous trips with family to Mackinaw were some of her happiest times.  She was a graduate of Mt. Morris High School Class of 1964 and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  She was employed by Target Stores for over ten years, before her retirement.

Surviving are her children: Kathleen and husband Raymond Gerding, Christina and husband James Conner, and Richard Dion.  She also leaves grandchildren:  James and wife Brooke, Pamela and husband Scott, Kenneth, Christopher, Alexis and husband Seth, along with great grandchildren: Emily, Shaylee, Hunter, Olivia, Evan, Carter, Gracie, Alanah, Mason, and Jackson. Doris's surviving siblings: Maryann Klamert, Bruce and wife Sally Zimmer, Dennis and wife Lorraine Zimmer, Donald Zimmer, and a host of extended family and friends.  She is preceded in death by sister Jeanette Dickerson, and brother Roger Zimmer.  The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to her hospice nurse Ally, for all her help and compassion during this time.
