Donald R. Hritz, age 79, died Friday, December 30, 2016 at his home in Ellenton, Florida. He was born in Flint on February 23, 1937, the son of the late Joseph and Theresa (Kozlowski) Hritz. Donald attended All Saints Elementary School and St. Michael's High School in Flint. He was employed by General Motors AC Spark Plug Division until his retirement and then relocated to Florida. He was a member of the Palmetto Florida Moose Lodge #2117 where he enjoyed time with his fellow members. He enjoyed time spent with family and trips to Michigan in the summer. He is survived by two sisters, Lillian Virginia Makarewicz of Davison, Dorothy Agnes Major of Littleton, Colorado, and a brother, Joseph Robert Hritz of Sarasota, Florida. He also leaves behind nieces, Janis Greenlick, Cathleen Pingot, Ellen Makarewicz, Bethany St. Clair, Denise Orin, Sandra Hritz, Terri Earthy, and nephews, David Makarewicz, Jeffrey Major, and Christopher Major.
A funeral Liturgy will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday January 12, 2017 at the Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Fr. Carl A. Simon officiating, private entombment will follow at New Calvary Mausoleum. Family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon Thursday until time of services.
