Donald Lewis "Don" Swindell , independent voiceover artist, writer, radio imaging and production specialist, accomplished musician, vocalist and actor formerly of the Detroit  Metropolitan Area died suddenly Monday December 11, 2023 at his residence in Davison Michigan at the age of 70. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Don was born in Dearborn Michigan on April 25, 1953 the son of the late Lewis D. and Bonnie L. (Condra) Swindell and had resided in the Detroit Metropolitan area most of his life. He was a graduate of Fordson High School and continued his education at Indiana University Bloomington, Monteith College/ Wayne State University Law School, and the Second City Players Workshop Chicago.

Don's career spans over thirty plus years in Major/ Large Market radio, including WJZZ-Detroit, 98 Rock- Tampa, WLS-M Chicago, and numerous years at WDFM and CBS Radio Detroit. His talent from staff announcer for sports at University of Michigan, to imaging director and program director in Detroit Sports Radio is highly regarded. Don abilities in comedy routines involving multiple voices, improvisation and music, and his creative ability to write, sing and create instrumental track was nationally known within the industry. Don also continued to write, play and perform with numerous musicians throughout the area.

Don is survived by his sister Jill and husband Michael Magee, and nephews: Shawn Magee, Nicholas and wife Amy Magee. He also leaves his great nieces and nephews: Jessica, Alaing, Allyson, Scarlette, Wtatt, Leila, and a host of extended family and friends. Please share your condolences at www.hansenfuneralhome.net
