Dillis Vaughn Hull Jr. of Davison age 72 passed away Sunday April 24, 2011 at his residence. A Funeral service will be at 1:00pm Friday April 29, 2011 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church 450 E. Wilson Rd. Otisville, MI. Pastor David Weiss officiating. Burial in Dodge Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 1-4 and 6-8pm Thursday April 28, 2011 at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday evening under the Auspice of Welfare Lodge #517 F&AM. Mr. Hull will lie in state from 12:00 noon Friday until time of services at the Church. Those desiring may make contribution to McLaren Hospice or Shiners Children Hospital. Dillis was born September 12, 1938 in West Branch, Michigan the son of the late Dillis and Myrtle (Mothersell) Hull Sr. and resided in the Davison area since 1965. He was joined in marriage to Judy Hale in May 8, 1965. Answering the call of his Country Dillis served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Mercedes, TX and St. Timothy Lutheran Church of Otisville, MI. Dillis was member of American Legion #267, Genesee Welfare Lodge #517 F&AM, a member of Rio Grande Valley Woodcarvers and the Woodcarvers Guild of Frankenmuth. Dillis was a life member of both, the Good Sam Camping Club, International Coachmen Caravan, and an avid Amateur Radio Operator. Dillis was employed by General Motors Fisher Body and Buick Motor Divisions for over thirty-four years retiring in 1994. Surviving are wife Judy, daughter, Patti and husband Mark Scott. Granddaughters, Andrea Pray and Caitlan Scott, Great granddaughter, Miranda Pray. Two sisters, Nell Kippe and Mary Donaldson. Numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
