Dennis Clyde Smith of Otisville age 71, died Wednesday May 2, 2018 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday May 8, 2018 at the Richfield Church of the Nazarene 7524 E. Mt. Morris Rd, Otisville. Rev. Tom Harvey and Rev. Darrel Harvey officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 pm Tuesday in Great Lakes National Cemetery, with Military Honors by the US Navy. Family will receive visitors from 4 – 8 pm Monday evening at Hansen Funeral Home. Those desiring may contributions in Denny's memory to Richfield Nazarene Church Missions, or the American Heart Association. Dennis was born in Flint Michigan on November 11, 1946 the son of the late: Edwin & Iris (Bowden) Smith and has resided in the Otisville area since 1994. He was joined in marriage to Janice Harvey on January 3, 1976 at the Richfield Church of the Nazarene. Answering the call of his country Dennis served in the US Navy during both Vietnam and Desert Storm. He was a member of Richfield Church of the Nazarene and a member of UAW 599. He had been employed by General Motors Buick Motor Division retiring in 2000. He leaves his wife of forty-two years Janice, daughter Erin (Christopher Raper) Smith, son Eric (Suzi) Smith, brother James Smith, sister Marilyn (Mark) Mendelson and a host of extended family.
