Our grandfather, father, husband and friend Dennis Raymond Laine was born on January 31, 1942 in Marquette, Michigan to a modest upbringing. After suddenly losing his father at 14 years of age, Dennis continued working with his family logging in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where he was taught the inherent value of hard work. At 17, Dennis joined the US Army eventually attaining his GED and completing Military Police training in Fort Gordon, GA. After serving his country, Dennis worked in OMC boat factory in Waukegan, IL and was eventually hired at General Motors in Flint Michigan in 1964 retiring in 2000. During this period, Dennis raised 4 children with his wife Norma of 56 years (Wade, Erik, Bryan and his only daughter Revanna, who passed away tragically in 1994). He and Norma took up residence in Davison Township in 1972 and designed and built their home along with numerous other properties. Dennis made significant and lasting contributions throughout Genesee County and Michigan on construction and building projects virtually everywhere. He is survived by his wife Norma, eldest son Wade and wife Kim, son Erik, son Bryan and wife Jennifer and four granddaughters (Madison, Ally, Taylor and Brooke (aka Brooky Bomber as named by Grandpa Dennis). He is also survived by his brother Bruce, Sisters Sharon, Susie & Holly and numerous nephews, nieces cousins and friends. Dennis will be forever missed and is deeply loved. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday December 17, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church 706 W. Flint St. Davison. Pastor Todd I. Frusti officiating, burial will follow in Davison Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by Davison American Legion Post 267. Family will receive visitors from 12:00 – 4:00 pm Tuesday and Wednesday at the funeral home. Due to CDC Guidelines social distancing, small groups at one time and masks will be followed. The family would like you to join them, but understands you may or may not at this time and respects your decisions.  Dennis will lie in state at the church from 12:00 noon Thursday until time of services.
