Deena Sue Johnson of Davison, Michigan age 66 peacefully passed away on Sunday August 2, 2026 at McLaren-Lapeer Regional Hospital. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A funeral service celebrating Deena’s life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, in Downtown Davison, with Deacon Dan Fairweather officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather from 12:00 noon until time of the service to share memories, offer condolences, and celebrate a life that touched so many. Those wishing to honor Deena’s memory may make contributions to her family.

Deena was born in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, on August 4, 1959 to the late: Lyle and Yvonne (Williams) Brown Sr. She spent most of her life in Flint before making Davison her home for the past 20 years. A proud graduate of Carmen High School’s Class of 1977, she continued her education at Mott Community College and dedicated much of her life serving others

Throughout her career in social work and through countless hours of volunteer service, Deena devoted herself to helping those in need. She generously gave her time at Outreach East, delivering food, supplies, and kindness to elderly neighbors and those who were homebound. She believed that even the smallest act of compassion could brighten someone’s day, and she quietly lived that belief every day. Her generous heart, gentle spirit, and willingness to help anyone in will be remembered by all who knew her. Above all, Deena loved her family. She was a devoted mother and a proud grandmother who greatest joy came from the people she loved.

She leaves behind her beloved sons, Michael Lazzara Jr., and Ronald Johnson Jr.; her cherished grandson Rhoman Johnson; her brothers: Lyle Eugene (Aimee) Brown Jr. and Greg (Ann) Brown, along with many nieces, nephew, extended family members, dear friends and all whose lives were blessed by knowing her. Deena was preceded in death by her parents and by her beloved grandmother Gladys Brown whom she loved dearly.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing that Deena’s legacy of love, faith, generosity, and selfless service will continue to live on in the lives she touched. She taught us that true wealth is measured not by what we have, but by the kindness we share with others. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in our hearts.
