David Lynn Schafer of Davison age 70 died Friday March 20, 2015 at his residence. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be Thursday March 26, 2015 at 11:00am at the Otisville of Church of Christ 13471 N. State Rd. Those desiring may make contributions in David's memory to Otisville Church of Christ Missions. David was born in Flint, Michigan on July 19, 1944 the son of the late Herman and Martha (Farver) Schafer. Answering the call of his country David served in the US Marines Corp. He was joined in marriage to Theresa Spohn on June 28, 1988 in Otisville, at Otisville Church of Christ. David graduated from Central High School in 1962. During his college years David placed 8th in the nation for diving. He was an avid bowler and member of the Otisville Church of Christ. David worked at General Motors, Buick Plant 36 for 43 years before retiring in 2007. David is survived by wife of 26 years Theresa; children: Jennifer McGough, Gene and wife Sarah Schafer, Shawn and wife Lori Owen, Scott and wife Tammy Owen, Matthew and wife Karen Owen; grandchildren: Noel, Nathan, Drew, Owen, Aiden, Cody, Logan, Jay, Jessica, Zach, Ella, Abi, Judah, and Shiloh; 3 great grandchildren; sisters: Elaine Latting, Mary Symons, Corrine and husband Jim Albers, Paula and husband Dennis Smith, and Janet Robins; brother: Gene Schafer.
