David H. Mathews of Burton age 66 died Monday December 1, 2014 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday December 13, 2014 at Grace United Methodist Church, Sherman Texas, Pastor John Fleming officiating. Burial in Dallas/Forth Worth National Cemetery. David was born in Flint Michigan on May 28, 1948 the son of Robert & Movina (Jackson) Mathews and resided in Flint Michigan and Sherman Texas. Answering the call of his country David served in the US Air Force. He was a graduate of Davison High School He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church , Texoma Emmaus Community. Dave was a avid sports fan supporting his Detroit Tigers, Texas Rangers, and Dallas Mavericks. He also enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing. He owned and operated Servpro of Sherman/Denison Texas from 1983 until his retirement in 2004. Surviving are daughters Addie Mathews, and Emilie Mathews both of Lubbock TX. His mother Movina, brother Garry Mathews, sister-in-law Lauri Mathews, nephews Joe Mathews, Jim Mathews, Justin Mathews, and niece Katrina Weber. He also leaves numerous, great nieces and nephews.
