Darwin Keith McGinnis of Lapeer, age 84, died Sunday November 10, 2013 at Ferguson Convalescent Center. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday November 13, 2013 at the Community Baptist Church 3104 N. Oak Rd. Davison. Pastor Daryl Taylor will officiate with cremation to follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral Home. Mr. McGinnis will lie in state at the church from 10:00 am Wednesday until time of services . Those desiring may make contributions in Darwin's memory to the charity of your choice. Darwin was born in Fremont Township Michigan on July 20, 1929, the son of the late: Emerson & Gladys (Timm) McGinnis, and had resided in the Millington & Lapeer area most of his life. He was joined in marriage to Emma Lou Graves on June 28, 1980 in Millington. He was a member of Community Baptist Church of Davison, and had been employed by General Motors Truck and Bus Division retiring in 1980. Surviving is wife Lou, children; Terrance (Debbie) McGinnis, Carl McGinnis, Ward McGinnis,and Theodore (Marwa) McGinnis. Stepsons; Charles (Becky) Thompson, and Robert (Ann) Thompson. Sixteen grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Brothers Dale (Pat) McGinnis and Melvin (Sue) McGinnis. sisters Bonnita (Lenard) Carmean, Muriel (Clarence) Preston, Sharon (James) Smith, and Carol Ann (Phil) Hopkins.
