Darwin Charles Lawrence of Burton, age 89, passed away Friday January 11, 2019 at Heartland -Briarwood Center. Honoring his wishes cremation as taken place, no public gatherings or services will be held. Those desiring may make contributions in Darwin's memory to the charity of their choice.

Darwin was born in Flint Michigan on August 14, 1929, the son of the late William & Margaret Lawrence and has resided in the Burton area for most of his life. He was joined in marriage to Shirley Hunsinger on August 2, 1952 in Holly Michigan. Darwin was an avid hunter, fisherman, camper and truly enjoyed rides through the country in the woods.  But he especially liked to work. He had been employed by the City of Flint as a machine operator until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife Shirley, daughter Dara Rife, (Bill Leonhardt and family), sons; Jim (Connie) Lawrence, Robert Lawrence, and Thomas Lawrence. He also leaves grandchildren; Daniel (Amber) Rife, Casey (Scott) Marshall, Jaclyn Lopez and Bradley Lawrence, his great grandchildren; Grant Marshall, Clare Marshall, Lane Lawrence, Brady Lopez, Beckett Lopez, Aiden Rife, Aaron Rife, Darwin's sister Adaline Lutze and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
