Daniel Robert Porter of Davison, age 76, died Monday September 5, 2016 at his residence. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Friday September 9, 2016 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Rev. Benjamin G. Porter, officiating. Cremation will follow at Sunset Hills Crematory. Family will receive visitors from 1: 00 pm Friday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in Dan's memory to the Shriners' Children's Hospital or Compassus Hospice. Dan was born in Flint Michigan on December 5, 1939 the son of the late; Benjamin & Mary (Provost) Porter and has resided in the Davison area most of his life. He was joined in marriage to Marjorie A. Botsford on October 11, 1958 in Burton. Daniel had been employed by Millwright Local 1102 until his retirement. Surviving is wife Marjorie, son Norman (Sally) Porter, his grandchildren; Nicole (Corey), Corey (Kelly), Kayla, and Geniffer (Jeff). His great grandchildren; Nolan, Quinn, Peyton, and Kiah, brother Benjamin (Karen) Porter, sister Rene (Bruce) Croft, and brother-in-law: Jerry Wells. Also he leaves his mother-in-law Marjorie Schuler, sister-in-laws; Martha (Tom) Shaw, Anita Sweat, Bonita Oakwood, Jamie (Jeff) Hall, and a host of other family.
