Beren, Cynthia (Cindy) Lee (Cox) died Saturday, July 22, 2017 surrounded by her loving and devoted family, from lung cancer.  Cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at Hansen Funeral Home, Davison, MI, Reverend Patricia Jarvis officiating. Family will meet with well-wishers starting at 3:00 until the time of the service. Cindy was born May 13, 1956 in Flint, Michigan to John and Ruth (Munsell-Hemingway)Cox.  Cindy was a graduate of Kearsley High School and took additional courses at Mott Community College.  She retired from Peerless Mattress and Furniture Company as the office manager, worked at Old Newsboys, and then Wal Mart. Cindy had many interests including gardening, cooking, rummaging, shopping, collecting Boyd's Bears, jigsaw puzzles and the new love of her life, her grandson Jonathon.   Cindy's garden was a sight to behold blooming with flowers as it was symmetrically laid out with tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, peppers, gourds and pumpkins; all lovingly cared for until harvest and turned into great meals, gifts and canned goods prepared with her mother Ruth.  Cindy is survived by her son, Jacob Beren and wife Janelle, daughter Michelle Yambrick, son Leo Beren, grandson Jonathon Beren, mother Ruth Cox, brother John Hemingway and wife Connie Palmer, friend and care giver JoAnn Williams, many aunts and cousins and several close friends.  Cindy was preceded in death by her father John Cox, grandparents Burt and Naomi Cox, grandparents Marie and Lloyd Hemingway, grandfather Earl Munsell.  The family would like to thank Dr. Asif Ishaque MD and his staff, the staff of Briarwood Rehabilitation Facility, the oncology team at Hurley Medical Center, the doctors and staff of the Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute, Dr Anita Hart and the care team at the University of Michigan Hospital Memorial contributions may be made to the Hurley Oncology Unit.
