Charles Onvie Smallman Jr, of Columbiaville/Davison, age 61, died Sunday October 18, 2020 at VA Healthcare Center, Ann Arbor Michigan. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. A gathering time of family and friends will be held on Saturday October 31, 2020 at Hansen Funeral Home, Downtown Davison from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. Due to CDC Guidelines social distancing, face masks, and small groups at one time are being followed. The family would like you to join them, but understands you may not be able to at this time and they respect your decision. This will be a relaxed gathering and everyone is encouraged to wear whatever clothing they feel their best in. If you wish to make a contribution, the family has asked you help a forest in need by planting a memorial tree or to send what you wish to Charles' mother Norma.

Charles was born in Pineville Kentucky, the son of Charles and Norma (Hightower) Smallman, and has resided in the Columbiaville/Davison area the last eight years. Answering the call of his country Charles proudly served in the US Navy. He was a member of the DAV, Lapeer Moose Lodge 2433, and Davison Eagles Aries 3589. Charles was a Physician Assistant and employed by Genesee Urgent Care. He was an avid bowler and fisherman with the kindest heart and a beautiful mind.

He is survived by daughter Jennifer Onvie, mother Norma Ortolan, sister Rejeana "Jeana" and husband Tony Clark, niece Jordan and husband Tyler Schuster, niece Keyanna Clark, nephew Travis Clark, best friend Rick Matheny and fiancée Becca Mushatt, best friend Tim and wife Alisha Goddard, and several extended family and close friends.
