Charles "Charlie" Pierce age 57 went to meet his maker on April 19, 2012 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. He was born on December 7, 1954 the son of T.J. and Betty (Boyle) Pierce.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years Lauri (Toby) Pierce; children: Natasha Pierce (James), James Gill (Rick Knight); stepchildren: Robert Gill (Dora), and Tanya Schmock all of Michigan; he leaves behind four beloved grandsons: Jacobi Pierce (Charlie Jr.), Gabreil, Calob, and Jeremy Gill. Jacobi was light of his life, as well as his namesake.
He is also survived by eight siblings; brothers: Tom (Ann), Dan (Judy), and Mort (Karon); sisters: Kath Ray (Jerry), Georgie McElyea, Norma Ray (Bruce), Roberta vanSandt (Joe), and Jerimarie Riggins (Steve); brother in law: Henry Hubbard. He had many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by parents, step-father Homer Wright, and his oldest sister Nancy Hubbard.
Charlie had many friends among them Albert Rush, Darrold Allison, Earl McCain, Jerry Long, Larry Hodges, Dean Kennel, and Gary and Shane Adams. He also valued the friendship of Doris Pierce the mother of his daughter Natasha.
Charlie worked at General Motors for 31 years before retiring from SMCO in November 2011.
A memorial service to honor Charlie is Tuesday April 24, 2012 at 6:00pm at Great Lakes Baptist Temple Family Life Center located at 2112 E. Maple Rd. Flint, MI 48507 (corner of Maple and Saginaw St.). Anyone wishing to honor Charlie with a remembrance can make a donation to the college education fund for his grandchildren.
