C. Maxine DeClute, caring wife, mother, sister, and friend, and proud grandmother, passed away at the age of 93,Tuesdy December 13, 2022 after a long illness at home. In honoring her wishes her body has been donated to the University of Michigan Anatomical Program. A gathering time of family and friends will be held from 3-5 pm Monday December 19, 2022 at Hansen Funeral Home, Downtown Davison. Private internment will be held on the family plot in Smith-Hill Cemetery at a later date. Those desiring may make contributions in Maxine's memory to Mary Marsh Scholarship Fund c/o Lakeville Community Schools.

Maxine was born in Otisville Michigan on April 29, 1929 the daughter of the late: Helmuth and Dorothy (Welch) McCurdy and had resided in Otisville most of her life. She married John DeClute on July 5, 1946 and he preceded her in death on August 28, 2013. Maxine loved to keep busy with her hands by canning and cooking in her kitchen or relaxing in her chair crocheting or reading. Nothing gave greater joy than gardening or sitting outside in her front yard with family and friends. Maxine loved playing card games and was extremely competitive. She loved finding a wicked deal at a resale shop or yard sales. Maxine retired from U.S. Postal Service in 1982, spending most of her career at the Cody Station in Flint.

Surviving are her loving children: Dave and wife Mary DeClute, Kathy and husband John Esper, and Phil and wife Beth DeClute. She also leaves her loving eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, sister Janice Fowler, special friend Jeanette Crainnie and a host of extended family and friends.
