Surviving the Love of his life, Lindsay (White) Jackson was joined in marriage on September 4, 2009. Sons: Alec (Meghan) Jackson, Chistos Jackson; daughters: Jasmine Hoganson, Electra and Chloe Hug; grandbubbas: Jaxx, Justin, Weston; granddaughter: Baby Jane.
The past 16 years of Brian's life have been the absolute best years of his life. He was married to the "girl of his dreams" and love of his life, just shy of 16 years. She helped him understand the true meaning of unconditional love and was able to bring out his very best qualities.
Brian learned the true love of a mother when he met his mother in law, Patty Eickhoff. She's always been "mom". They drove each other crazy, pranked each other, loved each other, and would do anything for each other.
We all knew the true Brian, his wife and kids were his absolute priority, pride, and joy. His very favorite hobby was being a pitmaster! His best way to show his love for them was to feed and entertain them. Brian and his son Christos competed in many BBQ competitions against the best pitmasters around. He and Lindsay were working towards their dream catering/event business.
His pops, Bob Mata, took him in as his own son from the moment they met when Brian landed his job on the Railroad. He's been a die hard railroader for over 25 years, with only 7.5 years left to retire. He would work until his hands were broken and spend as many hours behind the work truck steering wheel as needed, to provide for his family. During his 25 years at Canadian National Railroad, started as a Track Laborer, Equipment Operator, Track Foreman, Track Inspector, Assistant Track Supervisor, Track Supervisor, Production Supervisor, and recently was promoted to Manager of Design & Construction.
Brian would give the shirts off his back, the steel to his boots off his feet, and his last dollar in his pocket to anyone that needed it more than he did. His famous words (Well there were plenty, but most too inappropriate) were "if the smoke is rollin, you better pull in for a plate and a cold beer".
In the last 6 months he found God and began putting Him at the front of our family. Last Sunday he chose to be baptized. He said "I felt the entire weight of my past be washed away like hot embers in Holy Water".
Our beloved Husband, Dad, Brother, Son, Papa, Unc, Comedian, Man Child, Railroader, & Chef will be missed every single day.
