Blake Edward Gerding of Davison age 77, died Tuesday February 10, 2015 at his residence. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon Saturday February 14, 2015 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 404 Dayton St. Davison, with Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski, Celebrant. Family will receive visitors at the church from 11:00 am Saturday until time of service. Those desiring may make contributions in Blake's memory to St. John Building Fund, or Outreach East. Blake was born in Chesaning Michigan on February 15, 1937 the son of the late Edwin & Bernetta (Yaklin) Gerding and has resided in the Davison area since 1963. Blake was joined in marriage to Marie Kiefer on January 19, 1957 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a Graduate of Sacred Heart High School, a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Davison and a member of Davison FOE #3589. Mr. Gerding had owned and operated Gerding Packaging Company of Davison until his retirement in the 1990's. He leaves his wife of fifty-eight years, Marie. His loving children David & Tina Gerding, Thomas & Darlene Gerding, Kenneth & Chris Gerding, Kathleen & Jeff Atwell, Christine & Barry Church, Joseph & Sheri Gerding, and his eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
