HAMPTON, Billy Ray of Flint Township age 75 died Saturday June 13, 2009 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday June 17, 2009 at Eastgate Baptist Church 4226 E. Atherton Rd. Pastor Kevin Knox officiating. Private burial at Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Monday and 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Hampton will lie in state at the church from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services. Billy was born in Decatur Alabama May 11, 1934 the son of the late Roy & LaVisa (Kelly) Hampton and has resided in the area for many years. He was joined in marriage to Joyce Lipper February 26, 1955 in Grand Blanc. Employed by General Motors V8 Motor Division for over thirty years retiring in 1985. He leaves to cherish his memory; wife Joyce, children; Sheila & husband Loren Johnson, Diana & husband Bruce Weissend, Jeffery Hampton, Billy W. Hampton, and Kristina Hampton. Seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Sister; Edna Dean McCluckie. He is preceded in death by daughter; Tammy Gail Hampton, grandson Loren Johnson, sisters Vivian Proffitt and Fay Alexander. Brother Edward Hampton
