Barney Edwin McHugh of Grand Blanc formerly of Illinois, age 89 died Sunday April 3, 2011 at his residence. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service and inurnment will be held at a late date in Aurora, Illinois. Barney was born in Tunnel Hill, Illinois on May 31, 1921 the son of Joseph & Fleta Mae (Alexander) McHugh and had spent most of his life in Illinois, moving to Grand Blanc in 2007. He was joined in marriage to Cleo Hill on Jan. 16, 1946 and she preceded him in death Oct. 3, 2000. Answering the call of his country Barney served in WW II. He leaves to cherish his memory; children, Mary and husband Bob Brusky, Mark and wife Colletta McHugh, Margie and husband Dwight Martin. Ten grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.
