Arthur E. Schrader of Davison Township age 77 died Saturday June 12, 2010 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 11; 00 a.m. Wednesday June 16, 2010 at the Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Rev. Russ Sommer officiating, followed by burial in Rich Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 pm Monday, and 1-4 & 6-8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions in Arthur's memory to the charity of your choice. Arthur was born in Flint Michigan December 16, 1932 the son of the late; Arthur E. and Alice V. (Banbury) Schrader and has resided in the Davison area the last forty-six years. He was joined in marriage to Shirley Gillespie March 24, 1956 in Fenton Michigan,just celebrating 54 years of marriage. Art was a graduate of Flint Technical School Class of 1950. Answering the call of his country he served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War. He is a member of Davison VFW Post #4087, Past Post Commander 1970-1971, served as Post Quartermaster and was All State Team Captain. Arthur had been employed by Consumer Energy for over thirty-seven years retiring in 1990. He leaves to cherish his memory, wife Shirley, sons; Mark and wife Kim Schrader, Eric and wife Kathy Schrader, daughters; Amie Schrader and John, and Jennifer and husband Brad Packer. Eleven grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren, and a host of other beloved relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by brother, Floyd "Doc" Schrader in 2010 and long time childhood friend Steve Vargo.
