Stewart, Arthur Charles "Art' of Davison age 80 died Friday September 4, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday September 8, 2009 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 404 Dayton St. Davison. Fr. Andrew Czajkowski officiating. Burial in St. John Cemetery. Family will recieve visitors from 3-8 p.m. Sunday and 12;00 noon - 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. A parish rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Art will lie in state at the church from 12:00 noon Tuesday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions to St.John Family Center.Mr.Stewart was born in Flint Michigan March 26,1929 the son of the late Arthur and Sadie (Kirkbride)Stewart and had resided in the Davison area since 1969. Ansering the call of his country Art served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was joined in marriage to Bonnie Rae Bishop October 1, 1955 at St.John Vianney Catholic Church.He has been a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church for over forty year, and served as a usher at the church for numerous years. He was a member of Genesee County Special Deputies Unit,Davison Optimist Club, and the "Truth Table' at Archie's. Art was employed by General Motors Buick Division for forty-two years retiring in 1990. Surviving are wife; Bonnie, daughter; Shelly & husband Ed Roberts of Davison, son; Donald & wife Anne Stewart of Ann Arbor, grandchildren; Sara & husband Chuck Singer, Katelyn Stewart, Eddie Roberts, Andy Roberts,and Stacey Roberts. Brother Bob & wife Judy Stewart of Davison and many other relatives. He is preceded in death by brother Donald Stewart.
