Albertine Agnes Smith of Davison, age 93, died Tuesday April 1, 2014 at Genesys Convalescent Center. Honoring her wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Services will be held Monday May 12, 2014 at 11:00 am at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chaple Downtown Davison. Fr. Andrew Czajkowski officiating with inurnment at St. John Catholic Cemetery. Albertine was born in Oswego New York on March 1, 1921 the daughter of Leo and Josephine (Jessmore) Saumier, and has resided in the Davison area since 1936. She was joined in marriage to Donald Smith on August 11, 1939 and he preceded her in death March 16, 1974. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Davison, a founding member of St. Patricia Guild and the Alter Society. Albertine had been employed by Davison Community Schools. Surviving are daughter Lauriejane Smith and life partner Pat Lawrence, sons: Daryle Smith and wife Barbara, Jack Smith and wife Barbara. Also she leaves five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and a host of other relatives. She is preceded in death by grandson Jeffery Smith in 1977, sisters Marie Walker, Clara Cronenvhet, and brothers Louis "Chub" Saumier, & Leo "Jack" Saumier.
