Al Roland of Davison died at the age of 100 Monday August 11, 2025 at Michigan Veteran Home in Chesterfield Twp., Michigan.  A memorial service will be held on Friday August 22, 2025 at 1:00pm at Genesee Independent Baptist Church 4498 N. Genesee Rd. Flint, MI with Pastor Taylor officiating with luncheon to follow. Private burial will take place at Crestwood Cemetery at a later date. Those desiring to make contribution in Al's memory may make them to his grandson Mark Eckert.

Al was born in Kennett, Missouri on December 12, 1924 the son of the late Arthur and Lily (Jones) Roland, and resided in the Burton Davison area most of his life. Al was joined in marriage to Elaine Helen Staffne on December 19, 1942 and she preceded him in death on September 2, 2000. Answering the call of his country Al served in the US Army during WWII and was a ham radio operator, he also received a purple heart. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in Ontario, Canada. Al was an owner operator of AL Roland Cement Company before retiring at the age of seventy.

He leaves to cherish his memory daughter: Cheryl Eckert; grandchildren: Denise Earle, Kimberly Witter, and Mark Eckert; many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and great great great grandchildren; sister: Virginia ,and a host of extended family and friends.
