Eleanor May Valley of Davison age 86 passed away Monday July 23, 2012 at Brian’s House Hospice of Davison. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Friday July 27, 2012 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Davison 404 Dayton St. Fr. Carl Simon officiating. Burial will be at Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 6-8pm Thursday July 26, 2012 at the funeral home. Eleanor will lie in state at the church from 12:00noon Friday until time of service. Those desiring may make contribution in Eleanor’s memory to Brian’s House Hospice. Eleanor was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 30, 1925 the daughter of the late Ivan and Ethel (Barber) Brooks and has resided in the Davison area since 1968. She was joined in marriage to Norman Valley January 7, 1946 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris, and he preceded her in death on March 15, 1997. Eleanor graduated from Johannesburg High School in 1943 as Valedictorian. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the UAW. Eleanor was employed by General Motors AC Division over 33 year before retiring in 1980. Surviving are children: Bonnie and husband Mickey Nichols, Linda and husband Ken Stone, John and wife Jan Valley, and Judy and husband Brad Rowe; 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; sisters: Joyce Davis , Beverly and husband Warren Hufford and a host of other relatives.
